2017 Chevrolet Colorado Reviews
We’ve been taking a serious look at the reviews of the 2017 Chevy Colorado, and they’re through the roof. Edmunds says it’s “smooth-riding and well-equipped” and praises the different cab and configuration setups. Car and Driver says it “offers nearly as much utility as full-size pickups,” and The Car Connection likes its “roomy interior and nice finishings.” Here, we dive further into the reviews and the specs and features of this premium midsize pickup—available now at Sunrise Chevrolet.
Car and Driver
“The quiet, clever, and capable Colorado offers nearly as much utility as full-size pickups—minus the lane-hogging size.”
On the utility front, it’s hard to question the Chevy Colorado. This midsize pickup can go toe-to-toe with much larger and more expensive work trucks, thanks to the commanding specs offered by its three powertrain options:
- 2.5L I-4: The base engine on the Chevy Colorado is a 2.5L four-cylinder that makes 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
- 3.6L V6: Choose the updated 3.6L V6 and you’ll get 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, as well as a max towing capacity of 7,000 pounds.
- 2.8L Turbo-Diesel I-4: For the torque-hungry driver, there’s a Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8L inline-four that generates 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, which helps it tow up to a commanding 7,700 pounds.
“The smooth-riding and well-equipped 2017 Chevrolet Colorado is a solid offering in the midsize truck segment. Available with three different engines and an array of cab and bed configurations, the 2017 Colorado is a midsize truck that can get all sorts of jobs done.”
On top of its robust powertrain numbers, the Colorado is also quite adaptable. Available in four different trim levels, this truck is offered with two-passenger and four-passenger Extended Cab setups, as well as a Crew Cab configuration that can seat up to five. Depending on the version of the Colorado you choose, you’ll have access to a 5.1-foot or 6.1-foot truck bed.
The Car Connection
With its roomy interior and nice finishings, the Colorado is an excellent mid-size truck.”
The Chevy Colorado is built to get stuff done, but it’s also an ideal car for daily driving thanks to its stylish, comfortable, and well-equipped cabin. There are plenty of high-tech features on offer, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone app integration on the Chevy MyLink touchscreen, and a portable Wi-Fi hotspot as part of the OnStar telematics system. Other premium fare includes available leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a Bose sound system.
