After 14 years off the market, the Chevrolet Blazer is returning at the start of 2019. This all-new crossover will boast modern exterior styling but still offer the powerful capability you remember with some updated features. With two engine options, available towing-assistance tech, and new unibody construction, the 2019 Chevy Blazer will have plenty of power to play with.
The 2019 Chevy Blazer starts with a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that puts out 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. It’s perfect for zipping across town and saving a few dollars on gas. But if you’re looking for an engine option that offers more capability on demand, upgrade to the 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces a 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and use start/stop technology to help improve fuel economy.

The all-new Blazer will boast standard Traction Select that allows your to make real-time adjustments to the vehicle’s driving mode to account for varying road conditions – go from dry to wet, ice to gravel, and manage it with ease. On all models with all-wheel drive, the system will also disconnect the rear wheels from the rest of the powertrain to improve fuel economy and let you turn it back on when you need the extra control. For the RS and Premier models, a twin-clutch all-wheel drive system will deliver varying levels of power to the rear wheels for better traction and handling.
The 2019 Blazer with the V-6 engine will tow up to 4,500 pounds so you can bring along your camper or boat on your next road trip. Hitch View offers a top-down view so you can get another perspective when you’re backing up to the trailer, making it easier to hitch without a second person. The hitch guidance feature offers aids in aligning the Blazer’s receiver to a trailer by representing the receiver as a center line on the rearview camera.
And before you hitch up the trailer for your vacation, you can pack the cargo area hands-free thanks to the power liftgate. Just wave your foot under the bumper to open the rear hatch so you can pack everything you need into the up to 64.2 cubic feet of space. The split-folding rear seats offer extra flexibility when combining passengers and cargo.

Chevy will outfit the Blazer’s interior with features that will make you comfortable on those chilly days, no matter which seat you sit in. From the heated outboard rear seats on the RS and Premier to the available heated steering wheel on any trim, you can look forward to a little extra warmth. The front seats offer heating and ventilation for year-round comfort. These heated seats work with the remote starter so you can prep your car before you get in it. And for those long journeys, the available wireless charging and six available USB ports will keep everyone connected and ready for the next adventure.
