Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer Coming to the U.S.?
From 2002 to 2009, many American shoppers fell in love with the first generation of the Chevrolet Trailblazer. A midsize, truck-based, body-on-frame SUV, the Trailblazer satisfied the diverse needs and desires of many drivers. Whether you were looking to go off-roading or transport many passengers, the Trailblazer was set to deliver. You can still find a number of used Chevy Trailblazers in the U.S., but many are wondering whether we could see a revival of the Trailblazer in the months ahead.
Spotted: A New Chevrolet Trailblazer
The newest generation of the Chevrolet Trailblazer has been seen on test runs, but far from U.S. shores—all the way down in Brazil. On the outside, the 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer looks a lot like the 2016 Chevy Equinox crossover SUV available here in the U.S. Unlike the Equinox, though, the Trailblazer remains a midsize body-on-frame SUV.
The newest version features a wide array of advanced technologies inside the cabin, including OnStar telematics with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and the Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Audio smartphone integration. The newest version of the Trailblazer runs on a turbocharged inline-four and utilizes the same chassis design at the Chevrolet Colorado midsize pickup truck.
Will It Come to the U.S.?
While Brazilian drivers have an immediate reason to be excited about the upcoming release of the new 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer, it doesn’t appear that it will arrive at U.S. dealerships this year. However, as gas prices continue to dip or at least linger relatively low, it doesn’t seem impossible to imagine that the Trailblazer could make its way back into General Motor’s American lineup in the future.
