All models of the Equinox come standard with a 2.4L four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0L V6 that provides 264 hp is available on the LT and LTZ versions. Every model is paired with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional. With the standard engine, EPA-estimated fuel economy for FWD models comes in at about 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
